The colour purple could be labelled as the colour of the season for SS15. To the left you can a deep smoky purple hue on the models at Vera Wang. Other designers who went for a similar looks include Derek Lam where a light lilac was used or Sally Lapointe used a lavender to offset a coral lip.

During SS15 it was the return of the lip after also of lipstick free looks during the Autumn/Winter shows. Designers such as Zac Posen used bold and bright red while Topshop Unique used a smudged berry look.
Ponytails were all over the catwalk, all different versions. A popular look was a low ponytail at the nape of the neck as seen left at the Giambattista Valli show
According to Vogue, the most frequently heard words used backstage at SS15 Fashion week was 'minimal', 'natural' and 'real'.
Makeup which looks makeup free isn't anything new with Proenza Schouler models wearing only concealer. However this was one of the first times models have walked the catwalk completely makeup free at the Marc Jacobs show. The bare and simple look contiuned with the hair. Wash and go hair was used at Dries Van Noten and Isabel Marant.
Matte skin was out this season. Heavily powdered faces were swapped for dewy high shine skin. This was all over the catwalk. To name a few: Marni, Simone Rocha and Donna Karan. Lipgloss was used on the eyelids to reflect the light at Thakoon and Blumarine.
To make the models look as if they were sweating was also popular. Andrew Gallimore went as far as to create perspiration-like beads of gel to apply to the models' faces at Teatum Jones. This trend was translated into the hair with designers such as Prabal Gurung, Jean-Pierre Braganza and MM6, where the sweatiness extended to the hair.
Big bushy brows have been in for many seasons, however there has been a shift for SS15 with shows such as Prada and Miu Miu eyebrows were drawin in pencil thin and at Alexander Wang and Givenchy which you can see left, the brows were invisible as models had their brows bleached.
Demin was all over the catwalk inspired by the 70s! The 70s also inspired the hair and makeup for many of the shows also. 'Woodstock waves' were worn by models at Emilio Pucci, Marchesa and even Anna Sui.
Stars were painted onto the model's faces giving 70s festival vibes at the Tommy Hilfiger show
