Fresh and vibrant are certainly two words that came to mind when I first saw Tanya Taylor’s Spring Summer 15 collection. The two main colours were orange and white however, this then varied in patterns and textures. Tanya was inspired by pinwheels and graphic patterns and this translated throughout the whole collection. Other colours which we also saw in the collection were blues which once again suggested freshness and spring. The makeup similarly compliments the colour scheme of the clothes.

The makeup’s focal point was a bright orange lip compliemented with fresh looking skin. NARS International Lead Makeup Stylist, Uzo headed up the makeup. In a quote she said "The Tanya Taylor woman loves a surprise and appreciates the unexpected. Her make-up mirrors that expression again this season with classically radiant and highlighted skin combined with shockingly bright orange-red lip."
She also said “The Tanya Taylor woman is always crisp, fresh and bold. She loves a surprise and appreciates the unexpected. Her make-up mirrors that expression again this season with classically radiant and highlighted skin combined with a shockingly bright orange-red lip."

Main features:
The skin was flawless yet still remained really fresh, to create such a result a tinted moisturiser or light coverage foundation ‘All day luminous weightless foundation’ was applied over the skin
Cheeks were contoured and highlighter placed on the tops of the cheekbones
Brows were quite bold and strong
Shimmery eyes
Bright orange-red lips created using the Satin lip pencil in the shade Timanfaya
Eyes were shimmery – using products such as Albatross Highlighting Blush or Nars’ Nepal Shimmer Eyeshadow

I felt the hair styling was in juxtaposition with how the makeup and clothes had been designed. While the feel of the collection was very sleek and polished – the hair was left quite ‘messy’ at the ends. It almost reminded me of second day hair that’s been slept in. Allan Wood from Bumble and Bumble was the head hair stylist and designed the look. The top of the hair was left quite sleek with a middle parting that was flat to the head and neatly tucked behind the ears, which then went into a loose braid at the ends of the hair. To create the texture in the ends of the hair Allen used products such Bumble and Bumble’s thickening spray and Dryspun and a texture spray.

Overall, the feel of this collection is young, vibrant and modern. The hair and makeup compliment the collection well and creates a look which can be worn day-to-day by the 21st century modern woman!
